Con artists :-(

Well, somebody managed to rip me off. Last month I found a £1.50 on my phone account for a premium service and I was wondering where the fuck did I call. I didn't pay much attention to it until I got my next bill today and I had 3 x £1.50 for a premium text messages. Basically every monday at 18.30. I went through my received SMSs on my phone and found this messagess with stupid jokes. I don't remember signing up to anything that mentioned reversed charges or anything even remotely similar. Anyway I stop it (apperently u suppose to send STOP to that no.) but it pisses me off so I found UK trade body and filled up a official complaint. They seem to many people complaining about the same company and they already were fined and suspended for 6 month with some of the services. Anyway, hope they all die of hunger, or at least go bankrupt and ...., and if you wonder who it is - its OPERA TELECOM from Birmingham.

Well, its amazing, somebody charges you for something you don't wan't and you can do fuck all about it, other than complain.

not nice

My ribs and muscles are feeling little bit better but I managed to get some infection into my wound and it opened up a bit and its leaking ... stuff. Not nice at all. Hope you are not eating right now. I should found out tomorrow if its just a normal infection or something more serious like the MRSA that I had couple of months ago.

Other than that, I'm taking antibiotics, so no beer again and I'm tired and sleepy all the time. I can't imagine how it's gonna be if I eventually go back to work.

Today is "Supersize me" on TV so I'll be watching, I'm sure I won't be eating McDonalds for next few months. Weather is really funny, clody, rainy most of the time and our heating is still going off few times a day so we usually wake up with frozen noses and toes.... :x

Better times ahead

The weekend is gone. Shitty weather today but at last I'm healing and I'm finally off my painkillers. Even managed couple of pints of lager yeasterday (they didn't help much towards my recovery but it was too tempting.)

These past few days are really boring as I'm not well enough yet to exercise and I feel without energy and bit empty (probably missing my painkillers :? )

Still sore

I went to see my surgeon for check up yesterday. I'm still sore but he reckons I should slow down on painkillers so I stoped taking them and I only take paracetamol now which doesn't do uch to help. So i'm pretty uncomfortable all the time. He says it usually takes bit longer to recover from the second/third operation. He also thought from the x-ray that thy might have broken my rib but the x-ray wasn't too clear and he couldn't feel anything, it would explain the pain though.

Both metastases that they took out were malignant so it's good they are out but it makes me worried that there was still live stuff there after all the chemo I had, so that was the bad news.

Not sure what to think about it. Apparently there are two schools of thought. One is that all metastases are from the primary tumour, therefore they were there when I had my primary tumour taken out and now they just grew a bit so we could see them. They think that all metastases come from the primaries. This is something that mainly the surgeons believe.

Other school of thought is that matastases can produce more matastases. Which would mean that these could come e.g. from my other lung. I that case it's not a very good news. I think this is what my oncologist believes.

Anyway now I have to wai till 23rd May to see what my oncologist is gonna decide. They will have to do minimum of 2 CT scans before they will be able to see if there are any changes in my lung and if there is something growing because all the x-ray/ct scan pictures are full of scars from the operations and nobody would be able to say what is a tumour and what is a scar until they have at least 2 post-op scans to compare.

Well, so until then there is no point in worrying about it.

I love weekends

I must say this was one of the better weekends. The weather was good and I think that was one of the reasons. I done some shopping for myself after a long time, went to watch the London Marathon, got sunburnt a bit and went for a philharmony in the evening. And not to forget we went to a farmers market and got some lovely french bread, yamm

Czech vs. Slovak

I can't help myself but smile when I read news from back at home. If you talk to any czech they still thing that they are probably economicaly the strongest country out of the former eastern blog. According to reports in The Economist for some while now Czech republic is rather stagnating comparing to the rest of central Europe. It doesn't help their situation that their prime minister had to resign and that their president is agains the EU.

On the other hand, Slovakia, which used to trail at the back of all the counries is now one of the fastest growing economies. THe flat rate tax introduced last year have pulled a lot of foreign investors truing to make the most of low labour cost ans favourable tax conditions.

Is the tide turning? For a long time Czech republic was ahead of Slovakia, which was mainly due to the head start. Now when Slovakia cought up with some of the things that were lacking, due to the "czech centralizm culture" of past, it seems that Slovakia is in a better long term position then its western neighbour.

I thing that Czechs need to sort themselves out in the next elections (and hopefuly not vote the communists back) and Slovaks have to use their brains and prefer the long term gains of the current goverment from possible short term gains of the alternative one.

One way or another I hope that Slovak people will soon realized that it was a good long term solution to run on their own and make their own mistakes rather then pay for the mistakes of their neighbour (i.e. post 2nd world war elections).

I wonder what will happen over next 10-15 years.

heating is off

Brrrrrrrrr. Its freaking freezing. Our heating has been playing around for a while and today it's been off whole day. They are comming to look at it tomorrow so until then

So i think i'll need few extra layers tonight. Still taking my painkillers, breathing is pretty good but my back and ribs are still sore. I'm looking forward to go to Slovakia for 2 weeks...catch up with my friends from school that I didn't see for couple of years. Just hope that I'll be healed till then so I can carry my luggage.

Weeeeekend

We went to a Sarcoma patients event yesterday. It was pretty interesting, just talking about bone cancer to other patients and nurses. I met a guy that was in hospital the same time when I had my bone replacement surgery and given that they expirimented on him he was alive which was impressive.

So it was nice to meet with people that were interested in talking and listening about all the complaints and stories that we got and that nobody else wants to hear. And we had a little lunch at the end...

I also found out about a online group of patients with the same cancer html://www.sarcoma-uk.og

And so I don't forget I added some pictures from our holidays on my website and you can see them here http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/robdian/obor/photos.html" title="http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/robdian/obor/photos.html" target="_blank"http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ro...

So we did they do to me?

Somebody asked me what was it they do to me in hospital. Well since january i had: left thoracotomy, pulmonary metastasectomy with apical lower segmentectomy then left redo thoracotomy, lateral ligation of air leak, oversewing of lung and the last one was right thoracotomy and two pulmonary wedge resections.

Does it say anything to you? Hmm, all it means is that they played with my lungs 3 times and they took some bits and pieces out. So thats that.

Still sore..

My ribs and my back are still sore and blue... I went to pharmacy to stock up on painkillers, so it should last for a while. I can drive now but its little uncomfortable when i'm turning.

I'm so impressed that since I fixed my computer its working 100% "like new" so i saved some cash as I realized that my laptop has still got good specs even though its 2.5 years old.
